§28 para. 2 AufenthG – Permanent residence permit for family members of German nationals
Beschreibung
The permanent residence permit in compliance with §28 para. 2 AufenthG depends on a number of conditions. If you are a holder of a residence permit for family members of a German citizen, you can apply for the permanent residence permit after three years, providing that your family-relationship continues. In addition, you must have the financial means to sustainably cover your living expenses. You should provide a work contract that is valid for an unlimited period of time or at least one more year and you should no longer be in the probationary period.
Main requirements:
- In possession of a residence permit in accordance with §28 para. 1 AufenthG for 3 years
- Continued cohabitation of the family in the territory of Germany
- Sufficient knowledge of the German language (B1)
- No criminal record
- Sufficient financial means
- Sufficient housing
