§18c AufenthG – Permanent residence permit for professionals
Beschreibung
The permanent residence permit in compliance with §18c AufenthG depends on a number of conditions. If you are a holder of a residence permit for professionals, you can apply for the permanent permit after 21, 24, 33 or 48 months – depending on your type of residence permit. In addition, you must have the financial means to sustainably cover your living expenses. You should provide a work contract that is valid for an unlimited period of time or at least one more year and you should no longer be in the probationary period.
Main requirements:
- In posession of a residence permit in accordance with §§ 18a, 18b or 18d AufenthG for 4 years
- Professional with German degree (vocational training or university degree): 2 years
- Blue card holder:
- Option 1: 33 months (language skills A1)
- Option 2: 21 months (language skills B1)
- Current qualified Employment
- 48 months of compulsory or voluntary contributions to the statutory pension insurance system
- Professional with German degree (vocational training or university degree): 24 months
- Blue card holder:
- Option 1: 33 months (language skills A1)
- Option 2: 21 months (language skills B1)
- Sufficient knowledge of the German language (B1)
- Sufficient financial means (including health insurance)
- Sufficient housing
- No criminal record
