§16b AufenthG - Students
Erforderliche Unterlagen
- Application form - filled out and signed (issuance or extension of a residence permit)
- 1 new biometric passport photo
- Valid passport & copies (data sheet, entry visa, stamps, labels)
- Current health insurance membership certificate, not older than 3 months (no chip card)
- Current proof of residence (housing form from the Potsdam Foreigners' Registration Office, filled out and stamped by the homeowner/landlord, homeowners must submit an excerpt from the land register)
- Joint declaration of marriage for one another (one form per spouse)
- Residence registration from the City Hall (Bürgerservice)
- Letter of admission from a state-recognized college or university
- Certificate of enrollment (Immatrikulationsbescheinigung)
- Proof of financing/ income; e.g.:
- Blocked account (currently 10,332.00 Euro/year – as of: 2021) - no current account balance, no bank statements.
- Full employment contract + salary slips for the last 6 months
- Scholarship certificate
- BAföG notification
- Declaration of commitment (Verpflichtungserklärung)
- If applicable, other proof of financing (e.g. housing subsidy notice, job center notice)
- If applicable, study projection (university or college ) and score overview (after exceeding the standard period of study)
